　　中铁八局的海外事业始于上世纪八十年代初，其前身为原成都铁路工程集团、昆明铁路建设集团、中铁成都桥梁厂，先后在坦桑尼亚、赞比亚、伊拉克、科威特、苏丹等国留下一系列精品工程。中铁八局集团组建后，海外事业焕发出新的活力，2008年3月公司参与刚果（金）资源换发展项目，标志着中铁八局正式迈开国际化道路的步伐，目前已经成功开辟了刚果（金）、刚果（布）、摩洛哥、塞内加尔、尼日利亚、巴西、菲律宾、新加坡、老挝等多个国别市场，成立了对应的境外办事机构。公司承建了刚果（金）建国50周年庆典工程凯旋大道，镌刻在刚果（金）货币上的卢当德里桥，刚果（布）首家玻璃制造厂，象征中塞友谊的援塞内加尔阿菲尼亚姆水坝，推动菲律宾通讯提速的通讯铁塔等工程。先后赢得了外方国家政要，我国国家领导人、中国驻外大使馆的高度赞扬。公司承建的卢蒙巴大道工程被刚果（金）政府授予“国际设计研究科学技术进步卓越奖”，卢当德里桥梁工程被授予“国家新技术科学技术进步卓越奖”，这是集团在海外市场获得的国家最高奖项。公司在海外建造了一个个精品工程，树立了一座座丰碑，为中铁八局赢得了极高的信誉，为国家树立了良好的国际形象。
